Pinterest, Schminterest. Time sucker to the max.

Hours and hours and hours of time spent on Pinterest and all I have to show for it is this bit of wall awesomeness.

Don't get me wrong, Pinterest is fun. Full of beautiful, clean images snagged from all corners of the internet. Just thinking about it gives me goose bumps! But be honest... how long, total, have you spent oggling today? Yeah, I thought so! Reason one why MY Pinterest thingy is so bare.

I don't allow myself to sit and browse Pinterest for too long anymore. I get too many ideas, they get jumbled. A mind like mine needs some structure, discipline, and lots of planning! Two ideas at a time, MAX and I'm off Pinterest making a list of materials to pick up at Home Depot.
Come on! Let's be productive. Stop daydreaming. Make it happen, cap'n.

So, I love you Pinterest, in small doses. And this is why:

Finished! :)
(This was less of a blog post and more of a 'keep yourself accountable' post!)
Props to the OP of this fantastic and easy project!

Oh my sandwich.

At 10:45 am we pulled up at our lunch destination. Corleone's Authentic Philly Steaks.

Mill Ave. has changed a bit since the last time I bumbled around the area. Meters. Gah.
I snagged a space and started digging around the various change stashes in my car's console. Welp, I pull my hand back quickly to find I've been impaled in the index finger with a sewing needle. I was a little shocked so I just sat there with my finger up in there air, the needle's first quarter inch (felt like half an inch) hiding in my cozy digit.
Back to reality. Chad yanks the needle out before I can even whine. Well, that was easy! :) Let's get to the grubbin'!
#1 with Whiz and grilled onions. They also serve pizza but we'll save that for another visit.
It's not cheap but it's worth the money. We got two sandwiches, fries, and drinks for $20.00. The staff is friendly and FAST! I'll definitely be heading back to Mill Ave for lunch!

We (don't) want the funk!

2012 finds me in somewhat of a funk. And I absolutely hate using the term 'funk' because there is nothing funky fresh about my life recently. I've lost my crafty edge and I'm milling around the house wasting time checking out what other peeps are doing... So, yeah.
On a more positive note, there have been quite a few little home improvements embarked upon and even finished! :)
The house is coming
along, slowly but surely.

We added a little bit of organization in the laundry room and it's a flipping life saver for sure! Never thought I would get excited over shelves. But guess what. I am, and I'm okay with it.

Shelves in the garage, dimmer switches, big fancy mirrors, parking guide (with a tennis ball) and hopefully more this weekend after we have a nice little drunken RockBand get together!

Move, settle, yard sale!

The moving mess. My kitchen/dining area looked so big when it was empty...

The jump from Tempe to Mesa has not been exhausting, like I imagined, but has made me into an energized, spanking new homeowner!
Recently my days have consisted of papering drawers and shelves and trying to keep that 'new' place feel while finding a place for every single boxed item.
It's not happening though, some of my old things just don't fit in anymore!
Yard sale time? I think so.
Muti-household sales are the way to go. The more junk a garage sale has, the more likely I am to stop! For instance: If I see a couple books laying on a table, I know I will happen upon a box of Dean Koontz with a sprinkle of Stephen King and maybe a twist of Grisham. Mmmm. The perfect late night snack!

Shopping at your own sale is a must, especially if it's multi-fam. It's fun to snoop through everyone's items. I always find something I must have! Of course. I know it's counter productive, but it's just the thrill of the yard sale find that gets me.

When the fun is over, it's really over. Time to pack up and dump the left-overs off at the Goodwill or maybe just save them for the next sale.

A Wine (or Whine) Blog

My witty sister's blog about her wine tasting adventures!
Definitely worth a read.

What a trip!

I went completely insane when I heard that Puscifer was going to put on some shows in Vegas! I thought, "All those lucky a-holes get to see Puscifer!"
After a bit of 'what-if-ing' me and the hubby decided to go for it.

We found an awesome room rate at a four star hotel and we even scored some super SWEET seats for the show too!

I drove the whole way to Vegas and we checked in to the hotel kind of late. We ended up drinking a bit!

The next day we got up and hit the breakfast buffet then went back to bed!
Later on we went to check out the strip..
I had some super high hopes for Las Vegas. I wasn't sure what to expect but I knew it would be fun! I had more fun in my hotel room than on the strip... more fun on the road than on the strip. The strip is cheesy, crowded and dirty.
It's just not my thing! Maybe if I liked to gamble it would have been a completely different experience.

Then there was Puscifer! :) The absolute best part of the trip!
I have to say that the Pearl Theater in the Palms is such a neat venue! I absolutely love how small it is and there is a bar on every level just outside of the doors that lead you to your seats! The ushers or security are all dressed up like giant douches but that is an easy flaw to overlook.
Wow... Puscifer delivered!! It was an amazing performance by Maynard James Keenan and the whole crew. The skits were funny and the crowd was really into it!
We met a little family who flew in from Switzerland just to see the show!
I had the whole experience, someone even spilled beer all over my feet. Good times.

It was an experience but next trip I'm going back to Cali!

As Featured in the Etsy Gift Guide

I came home from the post office and hopped right on CraftCult to check my views for my new Heart Shaped Cake Pendant and whoa!! I had over a hundred views on it! I knew it was a mistake so I checked my username on Featsy.... Yup. It was a mistake! I wasn't featured. :(

It bummed me out so I logged on to Etsy and there was Heart shaped strawberry
cake with cherry frosting! It is the VERY FIRST item in the 'My Funny Valentine' Gift Guide!

I have gotten many views and hearts so far. I'm just enjoying the ride.
